Dr. Yu Liu“Failure is an option here. If things are not failing, you are not innovating enough.” Dr Liu graduated from East China University of Science and Technology with a focus on biochemical engineering and the biopharmaceutical industry. His current research interests are centered on plant stem cells and plant molecular biology. In his daily life, he enjoys various sports and road trips. |
Dr. Yuan Wang
"Practice makes perfect!" Dr Wang graduated from Nanjing University. His background focus on biochemistry and plant molecular biology. And his current research interest focus on the secondary metabolic processes of rare and endangered plants. In daily life, he likes to taste various flavors of coffee, likes to cook, and also likes to watch funny short videos. |

Yichen Dai"Stay hungry, stay foolish." I am interested in trying delicious food and city walk. My research is in the area of stem cells, bioreactor, and biomaterials with a special focus on 3D biofabrication, as well as cardiovascular disease treatment. |
Zhaoyang Wang“Nothing for nothing.” I am keen on studying the pathogenesis and drug treatment (especially the Chinese traditional drugs) of bone and cartilage diseases; in daily life, I love fitness exercises and traveling. |
Yixin Zhang“Keep calm and carry on.” My research interests focus on biomaterials, nanomedicine, and tissue engineering. In my spare time, I enjoy dancing and watching Marvel movies. |
Xiaosi He"Always be brave, always be kind." I study how epigenetic regulation, like DNA methylation and histone acetylation, influences the progression of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). My goal is to identify potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets to improve treatments for NSCLC patients. I enjoy hiking for its blend of exercise and relaxation, and painting as a creative outlet. |
MPhil Student
Ziyun Xu“Life is a journey.”
As a graduate student in biological sciences, I have a strong interest in understanding and treating human diseases. My research has focused on methods to reduce cell damage in the early stages of myocardial infarction, and I am eager to continue exploring treatments for this condition. Outside of academics, I enjoy playing badminton, singing, and swimming with friends. I also find creative fulfillment in drawing and role-playing. Ruisi Dong"Live in the present, passionately and freely."
I graduated from Northeastern University and the University of Dundee, with a background in medical blockchain and medical imaging. Currently, my research is centered on advancing human medicine. In my daily life, I enjoy traveling, staying active through sports, and listening to music. |
Pengyuan Xu"Study hard and make progress every day.” I enjoy diving, skiing, and traveling, which allow me to explore both the natural world and new cultures. My professional passion lies in conducting research at the intersection of AI and basic life sciences, where I aim to drive innovation and discovery. |
Ziliang Fu" Per Aspera Ad Astra" I hold strong interest in novel biomaterials for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. I also love exploring different cuisines, embarking on new travel adventures, and immersing in various interactive games |
Ziyu Zheng"Do not gamble." I’m interested in biomedical treatment methods for cardiovascular diseases. When I was an undergraduate, the topic of my final year project was about Hydrolytic Degradable Particles for Myocardial Infraction Treatment. In daily life, I like to do handicrafts and play video games in my spare time, and I also like to play table tennis. |
